Pastor Zachary Bright, R.I.P.

We regret that a past speaker at the Karl Hess Club, Pastor Zac Bright, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, due to complications of a long-standing medical condition, a few days after corrective surgery.

He is survived by his widow Terry, of Monrovia, children Christopher and Rebecca, brother Brad Bright (Kathy) of Florida, nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues.

Zac and Brad's parents were Dr. William R. "Bill" Bright and his wife Vonette. Dr. Bright was the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. Zac was a graduate of Azusa Pacific University in Azusa and the Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena.

Until a few years ago, Zac was the long time pastor of Divine Saviour Presbyterian Church in Irwindale, California, and Executive Director of the Southern California C.S. Lewis Society. Zac is survived also by his rat terrier "Jack Lewis."

A memorial celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday January 12th at Arcadia Community Church, at 121 Alice Street (at First Street) in Arcadia, California. The service begins at 1 p.m.

Retro TV for Nostalgia Fans

The original nostalgia channel, Retro TV, is now airing in Los Angeles at KBEH3 63.3, and is also available on Cox Cable 817 and Time Warner/Spectrum 1293.

This channel has programs dating from the late forties through eighties and includes rarely seen shows like Police Surgeon with Sam Groom and I Married Joan with Joan Davis and Jim Backus.

There is an opening for a new position of Deputy Facilitator.

This is a unpaid, volunteer position. Duties include list management, email distribution, program development and assistance with hosting duties. There is room for promotion under the auspices of the KHC Founders, who constitute the Governing Board.

The Karl Hess Club is an all-volunteer, unincorporated, non-profit association.

A Memorial for Dallas E Legan II

Vicki Fogelson has sent out the following message:

A memorial service for my brother will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions, 1016 west 164th Street, Gardena, CA, 90247.

This will be an informal event (i.e. "come as you are") and there will be no clergy. This will be a catered memorial (i.e. there will be a meal provided). We can share our remembrances of Dallas's life and his accomplishments.

I want this to be a celebration of his life. My sister Maggie and I want to express our gratitude to Dallas's circle of friends.

They harm, stalk, and harass individuals of differing opinions on a day-to-day basis. They are a threat to our first amendment rights. We urge you to address this threat and acknowledge Antifa organizations for what they are; domestic terrorist organizations.
